Ask anyone who has just made their first visit to Stonehenge what they thought of it and they'll probably say they were disappointed.
Britain's finest archaeological monument has been a national embarrassment because of the inadequate way it is presented to the visitor, with shoddy facilities and a road running through the middle of the site.
Today English Heritage will make a presentation to local councillors on proposed changes at Stonehenge. This is the latest in a long line of 'proposed changes' involving the visitor centre and the road network none of which have shown any sign of turning into real changes.
EH Chief Exec Simon Thurley and other quangocrats will be in Amesbury attempting to persuade us that the latest round of proposals are viable. Watch this space for more.
