Lib Dem Leader Nick Clegg MP told a packed hall at the South West Regional Conference on Saturday 31 January of his admiration for the success of Lib Dems in the South West. Speaking of the challenges ahead, he went on to outline the key policy areas where the Lib Dems can make a difference to the people of Britain.
Clegg was critical of the Prime Minister Gordon Brown as being 'out of touch with the real concerns of the British people'. He told his audience of the genuine hardship he had heard of during in his travels around the UK in his regular programme of meetings in local people across Britain.
